Cousin Tony

Was in a diner down the shore
With my cousin from Montreal
Who'd never been to Jersey before;
Don't think he's been anywhere at all.

Cousin Tony not all that polite
Unlike the Canadian cliché;
Yeah, cousin Tony was all right
In a South Jersey sort of way.

A Springsteen nut was cousin Tony
And Asbury Park we would do;
All the old haunts, the Stone Pony
And the Upstage Club we wandered through.

Cousin Tony blinded by the light
So unlike the Canadian cliché;
Cousin Tony on the turnpike tonight
Singing, 'Born in the USA'.

Yeah, cousin Tony's he's all right,
A Canadian with attitude;
Cousin Tony a true runner in the night,
Would make a damn fine Jersey dude.
