  Simple Thoughts

Simple thoughts on my morning walk,

The woods around they seem all right;

A woodpecker I hear it knock

Amongst the trees and out of sight.

A squirrel above jumps limb to limb,

A startled robin, it takes wing;

And me I walk at idle trim,

Without a thought - not a thing.

And so it is I make my way,

Upon this path without a care;
Where all my thoughts are held at bay,

Till nothing more have I to share.

Simple thoughts on my morning walk,

In the moment amongst the trees;

Now should it come as such a shock,
These simple words are my reprise?
